Original Johann Baptist Beha & Sohne Litiature

This wonderful set of Beha literature came to us through a collector who made contact through our website.

He had a set of original Beha catalogs and the separate price lists, that had never been circulated.

The largest of the price list books not only mentions all the model numbers of clocks available, but a description of the clocks. It then also lists all available options such as different movements, dials, case sizes, music boxes, matching brackets etc. The prices for these options are also given.

Also in the package was an original calling card from G.S. Lovell.

G.S. Lovell was Beha’s registered agent in the USA for the Philadelphia worlds fair in 1876 (He was also the agent for Emilian Wehrle). This card was handed out at the exposition and advertises his display.

G.S. Lovell was also the largest importer of Beha cuckoo clocks in the US, making him very important to the history of the Black Forest clock.

We are always looking for paper items that have anything do do with Black Forest horology. These can be catalogs, record books, calling cards, original drawings etc.

These original paper items are so important our research, and we are grateful to be able to have then a part of our library.
